Become an NLOL Ambassador! And Fundraise for us!

Who we are

New Leash on Life (NLOL) Chicago is an entirely volunteer run, nonprofit organization committed to finding loving homes for shelter dogs who might otherwise be euthanized. Through our adoption, foster, training and education programs, NLOL Chicago addresses the nationwide issue of pet overpopulation and highlights the importance of spay/neuter. We also tackle local concerns, such as the threat of breed-specific legislation (BSL). The mission of NLOL Chicago is to provide consistent advocacy for those forgotten animals - to speak for those who cannot speak for themselves.  NLOL Chicago's intake policy does not discriminate by age or breed.

Please join us as we work to save dogs and puppies from the cruelty of abuse and neglect and expose them to the wonders of love and compassion. By adopting, fostering, volunteering or making a tax deductible donation, you can make a real difference in the lives of innocent animals who deserve a happy, healthy pain-free life.

What being an ambassador means:

November and December are the most charitable months of the year and some of the coldest months in Chicago. NLOL is committed to giving as many homeless dogs a warm place to lay their head this winter but we need your help.

By creating a simple Facebook fundraiser with an achievable dollar goal you will directly impact our mission and rescue some of Chicago’s neediest dogs this year. Your voice drives your friends, family and contacts to learn more about our mission and the needs of dogs in our community and to get involved in organizations that you believe in.

How you use this platform is up to you! Taking your gift of time to create challenges, goals and awareness has a direct impact on our small community. Thank you so much for considering this incredible donation for NLOL.

Here’s how you do it!

      • “Did you know that New Leash on Life is 100% volunteer run? Every dollar goes to help rescue and rehabilitate Chicago’s homeless pups. Help me reach my goal of $200.”

      • “I believe in the work that NLOL has done for Chicago’s canine community over the last 12 years. $5, $25 or $55 goes a long way for this organization. Help me help them!”

  • Invite friends and family.

  • Please thank your friends who have given. Share with NLOL when you can – we would love to help thank your friends too!

  • Share your fundraiser!

Ideas for fundraising

When talking to friends and family, sometimes getting creative with your challenge can really amp up your results. Here are a few ideas to help you think outside of the normal ask (although these are wonderful too!).

  1. Match it!

    1. Offer to match the donations coming in. Example: “For every gift you give, I will give $5 too up to $100!”

  2. Work it!

    1. Offer an action for gifts. This can be serious or silly. Examples: “For every gift of $50, I’ll do 20 jumping jacks in my backyard...in shorts during the first snowfall.” OR “For every gift over $15, I offer to watch your pup for an evening out.”

  3. Inspire it!

    1. Ask your donors to make gifts in honor of, in memory of or in lieu of. These types of gifts are an incredible way to offer your friends and family a way to give to the places and things that matter to you.

  4. Make the dollars work!

    1. Giving examples of what a donor’s money can do at NLOL is powerful. Use these dollar “handles” to help engage with your fundraiser.

      1. $510 pays for a relatively healthy dog’s initial bloodwork & vetting from the shelter

      2. $100/$150 pays for spay/neuter surgery and care

      3. $120/$150- pays for a training consult and lesson

      4. $100- pays for foster supplies such as dog bed, crate, bowls, leash, collar, harness

      5. $75-pays for a week of dog play group for 1 dog

      6. $50 -pays for a month of food for 1 dog

      7. $25-pays for treats or toys

      8. Any amount helps our mission

Whatever you choose to do, whatever your goal - please know that you are SO appreciated and celebrated within our organization. We are so grateful to you for lending us your voice...now and every day.
